What is FrightLink?
FrightLink is a sensor-led haunt automation ecosystem designed specifically for Halloween haunters, built by the team behind FrightMaps. Whether you run a paid attraction or transform your front yard every October, it runs repeatable scenes from visitor events without an operator standing by.
The Problem FrightLink Solves
Every haunter knows the struggle: you've spent weeks building the perfect display, but to make it truly terrifying, someone has to manually trigger the props. You're either chained to a button, relying on unreliable step pads, or running wires through your entire setup.
FrightLink changes that operating model. Ghost sensors report visitor movement to a central Hub. The Hub selects the scene assigned to that sensor, schedules every output, and cues the props you already own through direct wired ports or Executioners.
Four Devices, One Ecosystem
The Hub — the brain of your haunt
Your sensors and scene outputs never talk directly to each other — they all talk to the Hub. The Hub decides which saved scene runs and when each output is cued. Plug it into a wall outlet, configure it with the FrightMaps app, and the live haunt runs locally:
- Runs up to 10 sensors and triggers per Hub wirelessly — plenty for any front yard, and bigger yards simply add a second Hub
- 3 trigger ports built right in — for a small 1–3 prop haunt, plug props straight into the Hub
- Build any sequence — chain outputs, add delays, and assign the scene to a Ghost event zone
- Keeps running with no internet once it's set up
Ghost — the classic motion sensor
A battery-powered motion sensor for places with a clear line of sight — porches, walkways, and hallways. It detects visitor movement and reports that event to the Hub, which runs the scene assigned to that location.
Poltergeist — the premium motion sensor
Poltergeist is coming soon and is not included in current kits. Product details and ordering will be published after the hardware is ready; current installations use Ghost sensors in clear sightlines.
Executioner — the Hub-controlled scene output
The little black box that lives inside your prop. It plugs into a compatible 3.5mm try-me or step-pad jack, receives a scheduled output cue from the Hub for the active scene, and passes that cue to the prop. The Hub — not the Executioner — decides what runs and when.
Range and Battery, Honestly
- Up to 600 feet of wireless reach line-of-sight in perfect conditions — typical real-world range is 100–300 feet depending on walls, fences, and metal between devices. Place the Hub centrally for whole-yard haunts.
- The devices talk over their own dedicated wireless mesh, built for reliability in noisy haunt environments. Bluetooth is only used briefly during initial setup.
- Sensors and Executioners run on a 3000mAh rechargeable battery — a full evening of always-on scares on a single charge, and with the sleep schedule (devices nap outside your haunt's hours) a charge stretches across multiple nights, with weeks of standby. USB-C charging; we recommend topping off the day of.
- Weather-resistant — IP67-rated components and conformal-coated electronics handle mist, light rain, and humidity, though we still recommend covered placement in heavy storms.

Unlike systems that require a sensor wire back to a controller, Ghost reports visitor events wirelessly to the Hub. Place Ghost in a clear sightline along a porch, walkway, or scene entrance.
2. Sequence Builder
One Ghost event zone maps to one saved Hub scene, and a scene can schedule any number of outputs with custom delays. For example:
- Guest trips a sensor at the front walkway
- Half a second later: Lightning effect fires
- 1 second later: Animatronic jumps
- 2 seconds later: Fog machine bursts
A single strategically-placed sensor can run your whole show — or spread several sensors around the yard so every corner has its own scene.
3. Works With the Props You Already Own
If your prop has a 3.5mm try-me or step-pad jack, an Executioner can connect it to a Hub-managed scene. Spirit Halloween props, professional animatronics, and DIY builds can keep their existing onboard programs. Generation 1 cannot cue props without a compatible 3.5mm input.
4. Optional Cloud Features — Offline-First
Sensor events and Hub scenes run fully offline, and the cloud layer is a bonus on top:
- Remote View - Watch Ghost events and Hub scenes in real time, with battery levels, signal strength, and activity history
- Remote Test & Override - Request a diagnostic test or owner override of a saved Hub scene during setup or troubleshooting
- OTA Firmware Updates - The Hub pulls new firmware over WiFi and distributes it to every device, no computer required
- Sequence Backup & Sync - Your scenes live in your account, not just on one Hub — restore them on any Hub you pair

The FrightMaps app serves as your control center:
